There are four philosophical pillars on which the Simon Ventures' Investment Philosophy is based - Position, Partnership, Prudence, and Patience:

POSITION

Simon Ventures prefers investment positions where it is the sole owner or majority owner. Nevertheless, it will consider a full range of ownership positions for the right opportunity. The only position Simon Ventures will not pursue is a minority role where management effectively controls the voting shares.

PARTNERSHIP

The Simon Ventures' team has extensive experience in the areas of planning, operations, systems and finance, which it willingly provides to its portfolio companies on an as needed basis. However, the firm relies primarily on professional management to execute the mutually agreed upon operating strategy. Incentive programs placing management goals in line with those of the shareholders are established at the outset and bind all parties into a cohesive team.

PRUDENCE

While leverage is viewed as a critical component of maximizing return on equity, Simon Ventures insists that its portfolio companies maintain financial flexibility. In this way, its companies may react quickly to capitalize on growth and consolidation opportunities.

PATIENCE

Simon Ventures is neither under pressure to invest a certain amount per year, nor is it required to seek a liquidity event within a specified time fame. Rather, it is primarily in business to develop a portfolio of quality growth companies capable of sustaining an above average growth record over the long term.
